The thinkWell Philosophy

At thinkWell Practice, my mission is simple:

I aim to support and move you beyond fear, limitation, and burnout.

Combining psychotherapy, coaching, hypnotherapy, and positive behaviour support – I create change that lasts.

When we think well, we live well

and lead well.

ThinkWell Practice - professional hypnotherapy and wellbeing services for individuals and organisations.

Welcome to thinkWell

My name is David Watkinson. I created thinkWell Practice to help individuals and businesses create change that is meaningful, lasting, and rooted in real understanding. My approach is pluralistic, drawing upon psychodynamic, humanistic, and cognitive-behavioural modalities to provide tailored, person-centred support for every client. This allows me to adapt my work to each individual’s needs – whether the goal is emotional healing, behavioural change, or personal growth.

In more complex or multidisciplinary settings, I also draw upon Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) modalities, collaborating with NHS and MDT teams to address complex behavioural challenges and promote sustainable wellbeing.

As a qualified hypnotherapist, I also work at the subconscious level, where lasting change begins. Hypnotherapy helps clients break unhelpful habits, manage anxiety and fear, and build confidence by creating new, healthier patterns of thought and behaviour.

My work bridges mental health, leadership development, and behavioural psychology, bringing clarity, compassion, and practical change to both individual and organisational contexts.

“Sometimes, you don’t need therapy, you just need a space to think clearly, reflect, and gain a fresh perspective. A simple check-in with someone impartial can be a powerful way to process thoughts, explore ideas, and unlock solutions you might not have considered on your own. That’s where thinkWell comes in.”
